Explore Idanre Hills in Ondo State, an ancient hilltop settlement with a palace, old court, shrines and wide views over the landscape.

Idanre Hill, also called Oke Idanre, rises to about 914 metres (3,000 feet) above sea level in Idanre, Ondo State. It sits on a Precambrian igneous batholith about 500 million years old, and the Idanre people have lived among its boulders for nearly a thousand years.

Sites on and around the hill include the Owa's Palace, the Old Court, shrines, a belfry and burial grounds. Idanre Hill was added to UNESCO's World Heritage Tentative List in 2007 in the Cultural category.
